A.A.S. CRIMINAL JUSTICE TECHNOLOGY LEARNING TRACKS
The A.A.S. Criminal Justice Technology Degree is specifically designed for graduates of a Florida police or corrections academy who receive college credits for their academy training toward this degree. The A.A.S. degree will not transfer into upper division programs in Florida universities and colleges and is generally a terminal degree, but students wishing to transfer may be able to take additional courses afterwards to achieve an A.S. degree which will transfer.
To be awarded these articulated credits, the student must first matriculate 15 hours of course work at H.C.C. on either a full or part-time basis.

POLICE ACADEMY GRADUATE TRACK
Required Courses
H.C.C. will award accelerated, articulated credit toward an Associate in Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice Technology (AAS.CJT) to those individuals who have successfully completed a Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) approved Law Enforcement Officer Recruit Program and are currently holding CJSTC Certification in law enforcement, OR have completed the training AND have successfully passed the CJSTC State Certification Examination in law enforcement making them eligible for law enforcement certification.

CORRECTIONS ACADEMY GRADUATE TRACK
Required Courses
H.C.C. will award accelerated, articulated credit toward an Associate in Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice Technology (AAS.CJT)to those individuals who have successfully completed a Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) approved Corrections Officer Recruit Program and are currently holding CJSTC Certification in corrections, OR have completed the training AND have successfully passed the CJSTC State Certification Examination in corrections making them eligible for corrections certification

DUAL POLICE AND CORRECTIONS ACADEMY GRADUATE TRACK
Required Courses
H.C.C. will award accelerated, articulated credit toward an Associate in Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice Technology (AAS.CJT)to those individuals who have successfully completed one of the following Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC) approved recruit programs:
A Combination Officer Program, OR
A Corrections Officer Program AND a Cross Over Program, OR
A Corrections Officer Program AND a Law Enforcement Officer Program
and are currently holding CJSTC Concurrent Certification in both law enforcement and corrections through their agency, OR have completed the training AND have successfully passed the CJSTC State Certification Examinations in both law enforcement and corrections making them eligible for both (dual) certifications

PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENTS
Before awarding these credits to a student, the College will establish that the student has received an appropriate Officer Recruit Program Certificate of Completion, AND has passed the appropriate State Certification Examination OR holds an appropriate current valid CJSTC certification. Whenever a student appears to be eligible for articulated credits under this agreement, the Academic Advisor will be responsible for requesting an F.D.L.E. Automated Training Management System check on the student. This request will be submitted by the Academic Advisor to the Criminal Justice Institute which will be responsible to obtain confirmation of the student’s eligibility for the articulated credit and will forward such documentation to the Academic Advisor.
