Description:

Answer the following questions (based upon the on-line email tutorial and study guide):

  1. How do mailers like mailx and pine know the location of your mailbox file?
  2. If you send copies of a message to a hundred people on the same host, which is different from yours, where are the copies made?
  3. If you want to ensure that your address and phone number accompany every message you send, what would you do?
  4. Which are the two protocols commonly used for downloading mail from a remote host (mail server), to your computer?
  5. You want to send a copy of a message to someone else without the other recipients knowing about it.  How can you do that?
  6. What is a mailing list as the term is used in email?
  7. What is the protocol used in mailing multimedia attachments?  Why do you think a separate protocol is required at all?
