    Dr. Craig S. Kasper joined the Hillsborough community in the fall term of 2005 as the program manager for aquaculture on the Brandon Campus. Although born in Birmingham, AL (a place he is still proud to call home) he grew up in the Midwest in the city of Indianapolis. Dr. Kasper has a strong background in the life sciences earning a B.S. in Ecology and Population Biology from Purdue University (1993), a M.S. in Human Biology from the University of Indianapolis (1995) and a Ph. D. in Aquaculture from Purdue University (2000).

    Dr. Kasper currently teaches Aquacultural Organisms lecture, Ichthyology lecture/lab and is trying his hand at Earth Science. Future courses will include Fish Nutrition, Fish Diseases, Aquaculture Recirculation System Design, Aquaculture Management and several courses concentrating on techniques used in the field of Aquaculture.

    Dr. Kasper’s professional interests include general aquaculture, fish nutrition, and recirculation aquaculture systems. His research interests include fish nutrition and aquaculture recirculation systems technology. He has published in several peer-reviewed journals and currently serves as an Assistant Editor of several aquaculture journals. He is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of the World Aquaculture Society (www.was.org).

    When he’s not in front of the classroom or feeding fish, Dr. Kasper enjoys spending time with his family as well as fishing, hunting, SCUBA diving and hiking.
