Magic Number Game Homework

The first microcomputer in 1975, the Altair, required the user to set the binary bits for each byte of information. This meant flipping eight switches to set the byte, then a ninth switch to enter the byte into its memory. Let's pretent its 1975 and you have to flip the switches. Complete the Homework form (click on the link below to access) by Bit setting 16 different numbers ranging from 0 to 255 by clicking on each bit to change it from the off position [0] to the on position [1] until the number on the left matches the number on the right:

  1. Enter the following IP address on the first four lines of the Interactive homework Page: 123.66.193.91.

  2. Set the 24 bits for the RGB color of: R=245; G=211; B= 12 on lines 5 thru 7.

  3. For eight bit color set the bits for white (value 255) on line eight, then on line nine set the bits for the 8 bit color of black.

  4. Now just for fun on the 10th row, input your age (or desired age) and set the bits in binary for your age.

  5. On the 11th row, input your body weight (or desired weight) and set the bits for your weight in binary.

  6. On the 12th through the 16th rows, your instructor demonstrated his Magic Number Game. Usually when the class plays the Game of 15, seven is usually the number the first student thinks. For the 12th number input a number from 1 to 15. This will tell you whether you should see the number on the screen that represents that partcular digit in the binary number for each of the four screens oin the 1 to 15 game. For the 13th row, you select a number from 1 to 31 and set the switches. For the 14th row select a number from 1 to 63, 15th row select a number from 1 to 127, and on the 16th row try a number from 1 to 255. Now you can be the Magician. However, figuring which numbers are on which screen was my problem and 99% of the people could not do this. But there is a pattern, Do you see a pattern? and could you reduplicate my screens?
