As part of your chapter presentation in the EME 2040 course, your task is to develop an on-line test for the chapter that you will present. A special HTML template has been developed by your instructor for you to test your peers with 15 multiple choice, 10 true-false, 5 fill-in-the-blank, and one essay question.

After completing the lesson on the introduction to HTML, your task is to:

1. design the test questions (each team member must produce five of each short answer type and one essay question using a word processor) ,
2. after the team has produced the questions, the instructor will supply the team with the test items suggested by the author of the textbook
3. select the questions that you intend to use as the test of that chapter for the course. The questions may be student made, or items from the test bank, or any combination of questions to fit the 15-10-5 format. The team may choose to utilize more questions by using a 40 (20-10-10) or 50 (30-10-10) question template. Other formats may be used, but it will require several hours with the instructor outside of class time. 4. use a HTML text editor such as HomeSite 4.5 to input the content into the template,(You may download HomeSite 4.5 from: http://www.allaire.com
5. place your test using an FTP program on the desired server,
6. check the test for errors by completing the test and submitting it to your instructor
7. use a spread sheet to do an item analysis on the completed tests submitted to you by your peers and submit the report to your instructor.

Some suggestions to the TestMasters:

1. You must use an HTML text editor (do not use a word processor). This HTML editor may be a WYSIWYG editor such as Front Page 98, Dreamweaver or Front Page Express (BUT be careful not to destrpoy the template)
2. Comments of how to edit the document are embedded into the template code
3. Do not type within the HTML tags unless directed to do so.
4. Do not type within JavaScript code unless directed to do so.

When you have completed this course, you are free to use this template in your teaching assignments as long as the authors are cited in the document. You may modify this template to function on other servers besides hccbrandon.net and the smtp mailer at mail.hccbrandon.net. Directions are embedded in the template. The are several versions of this template including many different variations on the numbers of each question type, some with drop down hints, and others with more detailed feedback on the incorrect answer given.
