Objective: Each student will submit a one to two page word processed document by the end of the second week of classes to demonstrate their prior word processing skills. The topic of this first assignment is for the student to describe the teacher or teachers that had the greatest impact on the their lives, those that stand out as the best and those that were the worst. What characteristics as well as teaching styles do these teachers demonstrate that makes them great or the goats. The student may outline more that one in each catagory. Think about those teachers who changed your lives forever. Also if it wasn't a teacher who influenced you to become a teacher add a paragraph or two as to why you want to be a teacher. Name names!
The student should save the file as a text file. If possible the student should use Microsoft's Word 97/word 2000 to develop this essay so that the file may also be saved in HTML format. These documents will be posted on the Web during the third week of class. If students have not taken CGS 1100 or CGS 1107 where WP skills are taught, it is suggested that they co-register for the course while attempting EME 2040. Those that need help or instruction in WP skills should report to BTECH 203 for help from the technicians on duty from 8:00 a.m. till 9:45 p.m. M-R, 8:00a.m.-4:30 p.m. F, and 8:30-2:00 on Saturday.
