During the Fall of 1999 Jim Beele developed the prototype for the JavaScript Interactive electron configuration web page as a final project for COP 2822. After the 1999 Fall Semester, John Taylor modified the script and developed the final product of eight web pages, four include automatic chemical short hand notation when electrons are added to orbitals. During the 2001 Spring Term, Al Falkenstein solved the final problem of allowing multiple correct answers by modifying one of the scripts. To Date only element 1-36 allow multiple correct answers. Links to these intercative pages and directions on adding electrons to the page are at:

Prior to Spring 2000, John Taylor in 1993 developed two interactive electron configuration software applications with Asymetrix ToolBool for chemistry students. These programs are below. Since these applications were designed for stand alone machines, a Plug In called Neuron is required to play these programs from the net. The electron sequencing program demonstrates how each electron is added as the elements are advanced from Hydrogen through Radon.
