What is the WAW Certification?

The WebYoda Associate Webmaster (WAW) certification is obtained by completing successfully the following four Webmaster Certification courses listed below and passing an online exam:

The $100 Direct Order WebYoda Associate Webmaster (WAW) Certification Package:

T

o pass a Web Yoda course, the student must complete all class exercises, bonus exercises, and homework assignments of the first four courses. The $100 special WAW package also includes a fifth course: HomeSite 5.0 whose content is not included on the test, but is the best tutorial on the HomeSite text editor. The online comprehensive exam consists of 60 questions drawn from the content covered in the four above classes. The topics covered in the four courses may be found at the following: http://www.webmastercertification.com/q50.cfm . The minimum passing score is 80%.

This certification is the prerequisite to the WebYoda Certified Webmaster (WCW), and provides the skills needed to acquire an entry-level Webmaster position for maintaining existing static Web sites or building simple Web sites from scratch. Web Yoda's CAW Webmaster certification courses and exam also prepare you to pursue advanced certifications offered by the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW). WOW is a non-profit organization, that provides the definitive Webmaster certification standards accepted by more training centers, course developers, and Internet professionals than any other.

Student Web Yoda Courseware Access

T

hese Web Yoda materials are designed for 12 hours of classroom/online training each, as well as future reference via the Web. (HCC has 45 hours of instruction for the three credit course.) The course content is continuously updated, and registered students can access the courseware via the Internet to keep up to date.

The HCC-Brandon computer labs do no longer have local access to these courses materials on their machines as the full-time faculty have decided not to have any association with Web Yoda nor the WOW Academy beginning November 2004. However, the computer science cluster at HCC reviewed these materials and voted unanimous that these courses were excellent in quality, but too expensive at $53.35 per course disk. Therefore, the limitation was placed by the Cluster that these coursewares are optional purchase only by each student in the distance learning classes at Brandon. The Dean at Brandon has approved the instructor's request to have these courses for student optional purchase. To work at home you MUST purchase the disk from the book store for $53.35/disk or directly from Web Yoda for $100 for the special WAW package or the WOW Academy package (eight courses plus two tests). If you purchase the disks for home use and after you have registered these disks you may access the course tutorials via the Internet from anywhere at: http://www.webmastercertification.com.

When you purchase the disks above after your initial meeting of e-Learning or campus CGS 1555 class, it is a blank disk with the Web Yoda label. It has two registration keys. The $100 package includes five (or eight)labels for the five (or eight certification) courses and an exam voucher or the eight required course for certification plus two tests (no HomeSite). The student at HCC must supply his/her own 3½ disk for each course.

One registration key is described below, then on-line there will be a prompt for the second required registration number, which is for HCC students only. All HCC students must choose in Step 9: John Taylor as the instructor, despite who is actually teaching the HCC course. John Taylor is the only instructor for Web Yoda at HCC and the Tampa Bay area. He will review your homework and issue credit at Web Yoda according to their strict standards of webmaster performance.
