Digital Brown bags:

Assignment: Students list 5-10 items that they would include in a brown bag about themselves and why they would choose to include each item.

Interaction: Students are paired with an email buddy and send a paragraph writing the impression he/she has of the partner based on the contents of the bag. Once that is done, they share with each other the impressions they had. The partner agrees or disagrees and they share with one another any additional facts they wish to about who they really are. Then each person writes about "the new" partner.  They develop a description of the partner...looks and personality (so far). This is posted on the web as part of an individual’s homepage or class gallery.

Class Follow-Up: Depending on the course topic, specifics can be required, such as: A quote, slogan, saying, famous person, favorite time period in history, favorite disease/cure, favorite mathematician, writer, contemporary work of art. The result is a springboard into course topics as well as a class gallery of facts or ideas which provide support for later activities.
